"Breakfasts were substantial. One night we ate dinner at the hotel's restaurant, too. That meal of Acehnese dishes was outstanding."

"1) Hotels in Banda Aceh are relatively expensive. If you are looking for a decent hotel in the range of USD 35 and above, you may consider this hotel.
2) My booking was mixed up by the travel agent. I asked for a Double room (2 adults) and my printed oficial booking also shows Double room (2 adults). When I checked in, there was no double room available because the hotel only has a RSVP statement from WHL (travel agent) for a single room. Thankfully, the hotel's caring team gave me an upgraded room, so we could still have the double room.
3) I was charged 100,000 Rupiah for airport - hotel transfer. When I book on the website, i was asked if I needed pickup. I said yes, the price is 'on service fee', but I was not quoted the price for transfer by WHL. So I had no choice but to pay INFLATED price for transfer. On my way back to airport on 4 days later, I order a normal taxi, I only had to pay 70,000 Rp. So I advised all to just hire a normal taxi once you arrive at Banda Aceh airport (there are plenty there) and the rates are fixed at 70,000 to get to town."

"Experiencing teething difficulties surrounding reconstruction of front part of the hotel, which should soon be complete. Hotel does not currently accept payment by credit card, but says they are "working on it". Much simple upgrading of facilities, service and maintenance could be done with very little financial outlay -- but it's a seller's market in Banda Aceh at this time."
